Mr. Dueñas has been an educator for almost 30 years. During his career in education, he has worked in Central Los Angeles, Pico Union, Boyle Heights, and the Northeast San Fernando Valley. He specializes in secondary education, PBIS implementation, and school budgets. Mr. Duenas is a proud product of the public school systems in Los Angeles and California. He received a bachelors of arts in Social welfare from UC Berkeley, a multiple subject teaching credential from CSU Los Angeles, and masters degree in school administration from CSU Dominguez Hills.
Mr. Dueñas grew up in Reseda and is the youngest of four. He is married to Rocio Dueñas, who is also an educator of 30 years. He has two children, who are Bert Corona Charter School graduates and are now teaching in the charter schools that they attended as students.
Mr. Dueñas draws his inspiration from his parents, siblings, wife, and children. He believes that they have given him everything that anyone could ever need including unconditional support and love his entire life. He aspires to support students and families to achieve their dreams, like his family has done for him. He always says, "I became an educator because I need to give to other like my family gave to me."
